10cm Uterine Fibroid, Esmya and Laparoscopic Myomectomy

Hello ladies! Just want to share my experience. I am 36yo at the time when I found out via abdominal ultrasound that I had a huge 10cm fibroid last October 2018. I opted for another ultrasound to confirm and yes I had a 10cm subserosal uterine fibroid. Took Esmya daily for 3 months from end of January-April 2019. I didn't have any period while taking this medication. I had my period back a week after the last pill. Ultrasound afterwards revealed 1-1.5cm was reduced. That's when i decided I really need to have surgery if I want this completely removed. I had laparoscopic myomectomy on 17th June. It was my first ever surgery so was really scared. Stayed at the hospital for 32hours. The first time I had to go to the loo was the most difficult. I felt sooo weak, especially my legs. I am very lucky my parents and sisters were very supportive and helpful during and after my operation. My post-op days were ok, never had any issues. I had to take 3 medicines daily for a week. Took shower every 2 days but didn't wet my tummy. Hope this post helps.

Was an incision made in your stomach to remove the fibroids? If so how long did you need the assistance from others to do daily tasks?
