Hi all me again as you can see from the title 10wks tomorrow. I know I’m being boring now but having a really bad day, in fact I want to cut my leg off. Consultant said all good except for the pain. Just don’t know where to put my leg. I’ve walked, iced and elevated plus meds. If this was on speaker you would be hearing me screaming. HELP

Been there. Actually I'd do anything to get my old knee back. That pain can't even compare to what I feel now. The surgery was awful. I had constant fevers and infections and even endured a needle biopsy to check for infection. Came home after 2 weeks of hospital/rehab and stayed with my son's for 10 days because I couldn't do anything on my own. Healing began after I finally came home. PT helped and by week 5, I was progressing way ahead of schedule even though I still had constant pain on the left side of my knee. Then week 6 I pulled a tendon and couldn't do anything. Took weeks to heal. I at 5 straight and 135 bend, so my dr released me to go bsck to work, but I don't think I'll ever be the same. Still can't walk down stairs using both legs, and have to concentrate hard not to limp. Getting out of bed in the morning takes minutes just to get my leg straight enough to walk and need to hold on to something. Bought a bike and stabilizer that I use 3-4 X daily, s

I feel you. And I promise you, it does get better. I had my right knee 16months and left 10months.

I’ve been through what you are going through, also wanted to just cut off the leg, nothing seems to relief the bed and I can’t sleep at night due to pain and/or discomfort.

But it will get better. You will thank God you had it done.

It will get better. Write down the time when you took pain meds. That way there is no guessing when did I take them? When can I take more? and stick to the schedule. The goal is to stay ahead of the pain. I found pain meds less effective if I waited until I really needed them. Watch your activity level,if you hurt you did to much, remember to elevate and ice. If screaming helps go for it.

I can identify! Sat down Sat and had my leg bent too far, I screamed and cried! It's been super sore since and sleeping is very uncomfortable.
