11 days on sertraline and feeling numb

I've been on sertraline for almost two weeks now. The first week was horrendous with worse anxiety however now i feel numb. I can't cry or laugh or feel anything. I feel no connection to my partner and just want to stay in bed all day. I have no motivation. Has anyone else experienced this?

If you need anything pls let me know.
The first time I was back to normal in day 5
This time round I am finally feeling good at week 7
I am a female 37 years old and I had the same issue also with my partner as you described.
But honestly sertraline or Zoloft saved me and my work.
I think everyone is now using the zoloft support group in Facebook and as I mentioned above you can get a lot of answers there.

I was just wondering, did your feelings ever come back? As much as I am relieved my anxiety has gone down I hate not being happy or able to laugh or have that connection.

The first time I was in Zoloft my feelings came back much faster.
I also remember being me but a best version of me so my relationship with my partner improved and also got a promotion at work because I was able to concentrate more.
This time round, I think I am on week 8 and around 90% there
Also this time I struggled with depression during the first month and I never had depression. But zoloft took me in a dark place. I am on zoloft for severe anxiety. Now no depression and more in mood to do stuff with my partner
I believe that this time round I will be perfect at month 3 like the majority of the people.

I took mine for anxiety and intrusive thoughts and its helped with that. Which is good because its helping me to function. I just don't really find pleasure in anything - doesn't make me sad or happy, can't laugh etc. So annoying because before this i was so happy. Just want to feel normal again!

Honestly you will get there
But give yourself few more months
Believe me, I know exactly what you are describing. I promise it will get better
Try not to mix with alcohol, I messed up last Saturday because I had more than one glass that I usually do🙄

I've avoided alcohol for the moment! Did you do anything alongside taking sertraline thay helped? especially with the numbness?

unfortunately I do not have a solution with numbness. all I know is that will pass
but I do yoga
take supplements like vitamin D or fish oil
also trying to improve my diet
I am in a very good mood so that gives me a push to do things

I do yoga and go swimming. I guess I just need to accept it for now and know it will get better. Thank you for your support!

What is your dose?

50mg, but mine caused by zopiclone withdrawal. Was previously on citalopram for couple months had to swap so probably bit of withdrawal from that as well. Lot people seem to be about 3 months to really improve

I think you will need so time then to balance then.
I used Zopiclone when insomnia hit my door. But wouldn't do anything for me. I was like zombie until I tried zoloft.
This is why I say sertraline saved me

Hello Ntina.
I hope you are well, (: this post has given me alot of hope.
This is my first time starting sertraline as I just got very fed up with having to deal with constant anxiety and feeling very down about it, it's just been a testing year and I realised I finally needed to get some help, it took a while to get used to the idea but I am hopeful now.
I started on 25mg for 11 days, initially I felt panicky had headaches and then started to feel my anxiety lift/my energy mood and felt quite positive, I think it may have just been that I was happy to be on the right path.
I upped the dose as reccomended by the dr recently and initially I had some really good days and bad ones and moments of worry/panic,.
I am now on day 22 and I also feel very flat emotionally and almost like I can't focus and I have moments where I feel a glimmer of good, but it just feels very clouded, I can however feel a slight improvement beneath all of these feelings, but they are not very nice 😦 I feel emotionless.
Is this likely to fade as more time passes?
Thankyou so much for your time.
