11 days post op - How far to walk?
Posted , 8 users are following.
Hi all
11 days post op and just wondering what kind of distance I should be aiming to walk.
How longs a piece of string I hear you all cry. I realise everyone is different so anyone on a similar journey to me for closest figure.
I am 46, still taking regular pain relief, scar is healing well, exercises are going ok. Still walking with 2 crutches and have been told to do this for 6 weeks.
Your thoughts / suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks
Paula

My advise to you is to use a pedometer and see how many steps you can do each day and gradually you can increase your steps and your speed at your own pace.
Always listen to what your body says.
Speedy recovery

dr says often but short is better than once but very far.
my problem is that the area around the wound still feels kind of stiff, esp when i try to stand up straight and push my hips out- doea anyone have that kind of stiffness, and is it the wound or the new joint ( hope former!)

I am 3 weeks post op today. Although exercises going OK ish. X 3 lon bed and 1 set standing. Still a lot of groin pain. I struggle walking for any distance. I walk very slow and can walk for about 15 minutes. Everyone is different so don't overdo it. As everyone says listen to your body. I follow the forum but have to stop sometimes when I feel I am falling behind with the "norm" whatever that is.
Good luck and let us all know how you are getting on.
