11 Months of Gastritis

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hello,

11 months ago I slipped and fell running up a slope, landing on my left side quite hard. Afterwards, drinking caffeine or smoking would cause me to experience heavy stomach pains, sometimes causing me to vomit. I went to Urgent Care and was told I had an acute form of gastritis. The gastritis has, at times, gone away, and then it reappeared about 5 months ago and has been lingering ever since.

It's uncomfortable to lay on my stomach or my left side while in bed. Ab workouts cannot be too strenuous without me feeling uncomfortable. Like I said above, caffeine and smoking cause the worse response, with cramping and diarrhea following shortly. Outside of those two, I'll generally feel uncomfortable 3-5 hours after eating a meal, with weird long burps.

I have been prescribed Omeprazole over the past few months, with my taking it every morning, but my insurance has made my life very difficult making it into a gastroenterologist to get an endoscopy, so I'm here instead in a time of desperation.

Thanks for your time, and please let me know what I can do to better my condition until I can get into a specialist.
