12 days post op

I just finished therapy and realized that i only have one more home therapy session then on to outpatient therapy. The therapist says everything looks great, I have good range of motion and good balance. I'm walking outside with 1 stick and I ice 3 to 4 times a day. I am fortunate to have had a pretty good recovery this far. No pain meds since day 5. I am happy to be able to share my experience with you all. I know that the journey is just beginning, but it has been nothing but wonderful.

no I am in the U.S. there isnt anything about my surgery or how i rehab that makes any of us special. I was a very athletic person prior to surgery and my surgeon told me that this surgery is usually done witholder people but is designed for an active person. It is supposed to be used so use it learn it, like it, love it, because now it is a part of me! he explained that at some point I have to learn to trust my new hip like i did my other one and the sooner i decided that i do; the sooner progress, achievements, goals and life will start. I chose to believe in it from that moment on. I dont care if someone came to me or not, i put in the work, i do the walking, the crying, the icing, the aching from being sore. I feel like its like going to the gym, at first its gonna hurt but if you stop, its gonna hurt more when you start again... If that makes me special, then i thank you for the compliment!!!!!

      Hi Mary

I too receive in home physical therapy, occupational therapy, a nurse and a social worker. My health insurance pays for it all. I am considered home bound because I cannot drive. I am so thankful for these services. They come three times a week.
