    Dear Tammy,

Well done girl ... you are becoming more  independant and that is good - just don't overdo it ..

it will of course be different, being by your self and will require some adjusting ... but you will do great ... doing things at your own speed, your own time -

    enjoy today

    big warm hug

That is so good to hear. I am having my 2nd hip

in two weeks and am desperately trying to remember

my progress day by day when I had my first!

you have given me a guideline for 12th day progress.

where are you up to re crutches and walking?

      Hi cathie,

When are you having your 2nd THR?  I am 10 days post-op from 2nd Left THR ....

I find it amazing how i'd forgotten those first days after 1st THR (March 16,2015) - Of course I started to compare but was told by surgeon and nurses to not do that - each surgery is different -

I was also reminded that I now have 2 good hips, having been in almost constant pain while recovering from 1st THR ...

      When was your 1st ?

18 months between ops, 2nd hip in two weeks.

got lots of pain and can't take pills! I am

trying not to think it will be easier this time,

my body is 18 months older as I keep reminding

myself. Tell us what ten days after feels like..

      Hi Cathie ...

good question -- I have been told by home health nurse who also came to the house after 1st op, how more confident and less scared I appear to be ... and she is right ... I was afraid to sneeze or cross my eyes in fear that hip would pop out!

maybe not easier but definitely different ... I don;t know - they are right, you cannot compare ... 18 months - I am assuming that 1st hip is strong now and the pain is from hip-in-need - of-surgery - that pain will be gone -

I totally understand where you are ... I was there not too long ago and no matter what others say, you feel alone, apprehensive, nervous - so be it ... you will get through it - i can promise you that -

for what it's worth, sweetheart ...

      sending you love

    You'll be fine, Tammy.

I was about 10 days post op when hubby went back to work and I've managed just fine. I think sometimes we come on quicker when we have to get up and do things for ourselves. It's all too easy to let people bring things to us.

Whilst I adore my hubby, it was quite nice to get some time to myself after being fussed over for so long.

    Take care.

    Ali xx

Well done Tammy, that's phenomenal progress. I'm day 6, I can dress myself with the aid of my grabber but not my shoes and that's about it! Congratulations, regards Mark
