12 weeks in ... feeling great but I can't sleep.

I'm around 12 weeks on 150mg. I feel they are working because today was the first day I actually left the house in 12 weeks! I went on a nice walk in the sun.

I'm getting less side effects and seem to be eating normally. But my problem is the past week my sleeping pattern changed for the worse.

I had my family over for 3 days last week. A stressful time with 5 kids in the house. I was woken at 7am every morning by the kids. `when they left my sleep didn't return. I've been sleeping late and waking early.

Tonight I haven't even slept! Still not sleepy!

I've skipped my dose a few times recently. I've now got alarms set. But I'm unsure if a couple of skipped doses could cause this?

Hi, hope u feeling a bit better I am also on 100mg and the whole reason I stated it was to help with my anxiety and sleep I feel my anxiety is a bit better but my sleep is still no good. I have suffered from insomnia for years and was really hoping it was a breakthrough.

I take zopliclone sleeping tablet and have been doing so for a while to help with sleep sometimes it’s good sometimes not.

If you haven’t try getting some from ur doctor just to get u back in the routine ur not meant to take it for more than 5 days.

Hope u get some sleep soon and well done on getting out and about, small steps but u will be fine and will get there in the end.

I found taken my meds at night disrupt my sleep more than if I take them in the morning. So now I am sticking to taking my meds in the morning when I get up. I normally get up between 5 am and 7am depending on my day. I try to be in bed between 10 pm and 11pm .

It's so great you have left the house James , well done! Yay!

I suffer most of my anxiety when I am alone at home. I wake up with forboden. I think I must spend too much time on my own feeling sorry for myself . Lol

Onwards and upwards for you I hope. I hope you sort out your sleep.

Hello James, I have some good news for you. Before I start can I please ask all contributors to this forum to state the following to allow each person to compare like for like. This is what I mean:-

I am a 72 year old male and a citizen of the UK.

Now to your question. I am also on 150mg and have been for 6 months. I went through most of the side effects mentioned in these discussions. The sleep problem was the worst. From 10 hours a day, (obviously I am retired), to not being able to get to sleep once I went to bed. I then lay awake for hours thinking and analysing all the things that concerned me, blowing them up out of all proportion

    .

    THIS LASTED FOR 5 MONTHS!

I did obtain Zopliclone from my doctor and they did help for a night or two. I then found that my body was getting used to them and the affect wore off. A second lot worked some weeks later in exactly the same way.

Now I sleep like a log, going to bed earlier than I did in the past and rising at usually 07:30 in the morning, unheard of for me. Please continue with these wonderful tablets and DO NOT miss a dose.

Sertraline has changed my life for the better. I think that I am 18 and my wife has a new husband.

I hope this information will encourage you to continue with the tablets. Please feel free to ask me any more questions.

    Regards...… Alan

I’ve read where people said even missing ONE dose caused a return of symptoms and it took a few days of being back on it to return to normal what ever that is lol   I hope your sleep returns to normal soon too.  Try to stick to your usual sleep schedule at least.  I can imagine how having a lot of people and activity in your home can throw you off and I know it would to me too.
