12 weeks since anal fistula surgery. Surgery wound is still not completely cured. Why?

I'm 22 and i had my surgery. I didn't experience alot of pain. I went to meet the surgeon after 4 weeks, he said there is a little infection which is the reason why my wound isn't completely healed. He gave me some antibiotics and few days later, puss came out of the wound. The wound now is as tiny as a pimple yet it's not completely healed. I keep it clean always. Is it normal for the wound to take more than 12 weeks to heal. It's really depressing.

hello. yes its normal for 8 weeks.

I'm about 4 months since my surgery and I still have a small hole in the wound.

it does heal...but eventually opens up once every 2 weeks when I move an awkward way (picking up a box)

    (putting a shoe on)

it then oozes blood and discharge for a week or two and closes again.

    very frustrating.

I guess it would have healed fully if I spent t 4 months at home.

I spent 1 month and I thought that was enough

      Hi @Male38

Did your wound end up fully healing ? how long did it take if it did?
