12 Weeks Thr

It's 12 weeks since I had my R thr and I am back to normal.
At first I was apprehensive whether to have it done or not and now looking back I'm glad I did.
My operated leg is now straight , I no longer use crutches and going up 5 flights of stairs is no longer a problem.
As I mentioned previously I have been very lucky than most of you as I encounter no problem with sleeping, walking , or do normal daily activitiy after the ops.
Its now 12 weeks I walk faster than I did before , no problem with getting in and out of Bath , bending or kneeling etc ...
The only exercise I've done and is still doing is walking (6miles) daily , and swim twice a week.
Iam also very light weight which might have contributed with my speedy recovery.
I would like to thank you all for your support and advise.
finding this forum is a God send as it prepared me before and after the operation.

It's so nice to hear each and every success story. Well done you!
I hope I can say the same at 12 weeks post op but I'm heading that way so fingers crossed. I was 8 weeks yesterday and had physio appointment who said all is going according to plan so I'm well pleased 😊

Thank you for your encouraging input, I am having R THR as well in a month....was fine with it as I've been suffering limping for 8  years!!! So scared after reading how the recovery is slow and painful and walkers canes and wheelchairs help🙀 I too am very light weight and fit, hoping for the same recovery as you, thanks again for the encouraging words! good to hear from you - i'm 8 weeks tomorrow, and like you very lucky all has gone well.
I've bought walking poles to go back to Dartmoor walks, plan to jog and play tennis soonish, but will listen to hospital physio on monday too. My struggle mostly is putting trousers on standing up!
I was in good health b4 the op, which helped.
Sorry no physio excercise classes offered, but I've agood personal trainer at gym whose identified the muscle groupls we'll be working on over next few weeks.
All the best

I too am 11wks post op and after a tough first 4 wks am slowly feeling the benefits..like you the only exercise I do is walking 2 mls every day with the odd 5 miler every few weeks..I've also just got back on the static bike only doing 15min sessions and slowly building up the distance..I'm lightweight too at 10.4 UK stones, which I think gives a massive help to early recovery.
Im hoping eventually to get back on the mountain bike, but the risk of falling on my new hips is putting me off..has anyone off road biking on easy trails after their THR?
