12 wks post abdominal hysterectomy

Hi folks, I'm now 12 wks post ab hysterectomy and physically, have healed really well. Mentally, I just don't feel like myself yet and its a real uphill struggle trying to lose the 10lb I gained prior to surgery. Despite being a regular runner I was so weak prior to surgery that I became very inactive and therefore gained weight. I've had a great recovery, walking miles, few short runs, exercising regularly, heathy diet and lots of water. Feel like even though the fibroids are long gone I'm still feeling their effect. Even with tracking meals and calories etc, I've been unable to lose a lb. I've been told that the surgery etc can slow the metabolism and it will take some time for the body to catch up and start working like it used to. Just wondered if anyone has experienced this too. Was advised to take unmilled flaxseed daily to help with hormone levels. Any other suggestions?
