Hello again, I,ve not been on here for a few weeks, but I am now 13 weeks post op. Everything is going well, 3 weeks ago, thats 9 weeks post op. we went to Majorca with my wife for two weeks, got back Sat 13th. we walked about 6 miles a day (still need a stick, but not around the house) and then we swam every afternoon. No problems whatsoever !!.Now at 13 weeks, I,m back on the alltment, refurbishing our kitchen, walking the dog 3 times a day. I still walk a bit like a Penquin without the stick, but thats mainly due to a motorbike crash I had when I was 20 ( a long time ago ) But no pain, sleep like a log, sometimes I seem to get tired a bit quicker that I did. So anyone out there just had a THR or about to, Don,t worry its well worth in the end, get out of bed as soon as you can, do the excercises, and once that 6 weeks sleeping on your back is out the way, it get better every day. ( I,m 69 next month)
Best Wishes & God bless
Brian

That is remarkable. My husband Derek is scheduled for his op mid July and I have noticed the members of the forum seem to be younger than he is, (75 years)so I wondered if it would affect how quickly he recovered; but you have proved it can be done. Thank you for sharing your amazing recovery.
Best wishes
Hazel

Sounds like a good walking and a good regaining of life holiday! Pleased for you...
Maybe you might consider some Alexander lessons on posture? Your hips would benefit hugely from even flowing walking movements if that is possible...
I'm currently on holiday in France at 16 weeks and still 71 years old. All going well...did not pack any sticks! Kneeling is still tricky but yes possible...walking 6 miles is fine!
Enjoy new life!
