13th day on 100mg Sertraline - not too bad

Hi all.

Ive been on this scary Journey for around 10 months. I started with Fluoxetine 20mg and went up to 50mg after 2 months. I started feeling a little better then after 3 months I crashed again. The GP decided to move me to Sertraline 50mg. I was on this for around 4 months and felt okay but still not me. All I can say was it felt like I was nearly there but not quite. 13 days ago I started on 100mg. The first 5 days were awful, shakes, sweats, lack of appetite, anxiety and lack of sleep. I've started to feel a little better each day and anxiety isn't as bad. I'm hoping this is the right dose. I feel that I am able to tackle a lot more and I'm actually laughing and being me. Negative thoughts are not as hard to combat. Fingers crossed I just keep getting better. I hope you all are doing better too. God bless x

    Good luck for yourself

Thats good news that youre starting to feel more like yourself. Im on 150 sert, each dose increase took 3 weeks for side effects to settle and at around week 5 on sert it seemed to click and ive been feeling good, with hardly any anxiety. I went up in 25s though, so side effects not as severe. Hopefully 100 will be your dose, but if theres still room for improvement in a few weeks you could always up to 125.

Hi Julie - good to hear it's starting to work for you. It gives me hope and helps me to relax.

I went from 25 to 50, 75, 100 and then 150 for the last three weeks. I wanted to give the 150 another couple of weeks but my doctor thinks it should have kicked in by now and wants me on 175 and then 200. I started 175 yesterday and the last two days have been hard with an increase in nervousness and anxiety. For the first few weeks my depression was awful. Luckily that's passed. So I'm anxious but at least I'm not severley depressed.
