14 weeks post TKR and my knee is healing as well as can be expected, however i feel queasy each and every day. Has anyone else recognized this symptom? could it be it is a result of the knee being mended with all the things happening around the knee (new tissues being born etc)

Hi Climber, I too am 14 weeks post TKR, and yes I feel queasy everyday too....I'm blaming it on the pain and trying to cope the best I can with the weak feeling and pushing myself to do general house work, even the smallest task takes so much effort, I feel more than queasy some days I actually feel sick with the pain and wishing for it to just stop.im so sorry I got it done, I never thought it would pain for so long...osteoarthritis pain wasn't as bad as this.

What pain relief are you taking? Could be making you nauseous!

celticchick, i should have said in my post that i stopped taking all medicine about 6 weeks ago because the side effects of the pain relief medicine was causing nauseous and other unpleasant side affects. Now today having thought a little deeper  about the queasy symptoms that i have at the moment i believe what i am experiencing is probably a residue of the medicine which i had been taking prior to stopping taking the medicine and the queasiness will eventually stop.

If you are/we’re taking an anti-inflammatory and getting tummy symptoms they can prescribe something like omneprazole fk counteract it and protect your tummy. It might also be worth checking for heliobacter pylori if you have any tummy pain as well as nausea.

Go back to your Dr it's prob the medication your on making you feel queasy. They can change them for something else or give you something to stop the quest feeling. It's not a nice op, I recently refused to have my 2nd knee done again due to it ballooning up & intense pain. It's settle down again now but still not right. I'm 18mnths on. Its a long slow recovery. Good luck.
