15 moths update

Hi everyone,
Here's an update from me. I got sick April 2018 blood confirmed mono. Since then ongoing low-grade fever, I haven't been able to kick. GP sent me for extensive tests, blood, ct scan, xray of jaws.....been going on a couple of months. Results were all fine. So I have an appointment in 3 months for checkup again.
I should be really happy, but you all know I'm not, because we all struggle with not knowing how long this will last.
Anyway, lots of people here seem to be struggling up to two years, many of you with quite debilitating symptoms. So I will soldier on with my low grade fever, every late afternoon it kicks in with a slight malaise feeling. And a bit of phlegm in my throat.
They even said maybe it's not mono, they don't see the typical pattern. Even though the only bloodtest showing anything not right was the mono test, which is still presenting slightly high levels. They said, that this could be caused by something else. This really frustrated me, now not even knowing what's wrong!
They don't like the continuous everyday fever though, so they're keeping an eye on me.
That's my update guys, group hugs to everyone, today the weather is lovely here in Denmark, I'll go to my allotment and tend my plants and flowers - hope you all find some healing today.

Hi Malene,
It is really good to see a message from you, just so sorry to hear things have been so tough for you at the moment still. I really do empathise with the low grade fever thing, when I was going through and even recovering from this virus the low grade fever and the fatigue were the two things which I found most debilitating and difficult to cope with. It's so hard to describe that low grade fever, like a horrible tap has been left on and running through you, it's so draining and it makes living a normal life so difficult.
I can only imagine how weary and drained you must be after over a year of feeling this way Malene, I just want to offer hope and encourage that things will improve and get better. At about 15 months for me I was starting to fee a bit better but was still very fragile, still had to manage my activity and if I did too much felt the low grade fever come on me, but things did get much better as that second year progressed Malene - it can just take time but it is very normal to go through this with mono and very normal to get back to full recovery with time. Your body resilience does and will return, everyone has their own unique timescale and recovery journey / story with this. It definitely does sound like mono is the most likely cause given the symptoms of low grade fever and that the blood tests have shown that - it's also classic mono that most of the other blood tests show as normal even when you're feeling far from normal!
Just wanted you to know I was thinking about you Malene, to encourage you not to give up and to remember there is hope and recovery ahead still, even though it's hard to see and feel that when it goes on for such a long time. Truly I believe in my heart that you are going to make a full recovery with some more time, still believing God is the great healer, I know it was only down to Him I was able to get through mono and I truly believe He is going to get you through this too and that He has plans for a great future and good health ahead for you - hang in there Malene.
Sending best wishes to you in Denmark from across the water in Scotland here - message any time and keep in touch! Thinking of you and remember you WILL get that breakthrough you need, it's coming!

Hi Craig,
Thank you once again for your kind support and response. I do remember, that you too were struggling with low grade fever for quite a while, and that kept me confident, that I too am dealing with a long standing case of mono, even when the doctors are in doubt.
It is really reassuring, that we have this forum, and can help each other get through these tough cases of mono, when ours doctors can't really help, and we feel bad, and all tests come out normal.
I have learnt on this site, that one can feel bad for a couple of years, and that's actually pretty normal.
I hope that you are doing okay, I know you had back problems, and that can be quite frustrating and debilitating, and can take a while to recover from.
Sending you kind thoughts over the sea to Scotland. I am actually going to Edinburgh end of August with I friend. Such a beautiful part of the UK, I travelled in the very north of Scotland years ago, a place no-one really seems to visit, but absolutely stunning.
Take care Craig. 🌼🌿🌹
