Hi. I have been on 20mg citalopram for 15 weeks now. I still get headaches and have had 2 bad migrAnes since starting tablets. I also feel sick quite often. I was sat in my front room about half hour ago and came over really funny and went White felt like my anxiety hit me hard have taken some paracetamol and now laying in bed. It scared me as live alone with my 5 year old daughter. I thought I was slowly getting there then that happened and still have a couple of side affects. I saw my doctor a couple of weeks ago she said to have a think if I want to up my dose to 30mg or change tablets. I'm to scared to do any. Just want my life back and feel normal. Any advice would be great. Thank you.

Hollie cuddle up to your little girl for comfort . Do you have a close relative you can talk to anytime if so let them know how your feeling. Try to see your doctor if you can tomorrow. Or you may be like me having a set back or need to change meds. Hugs x

    Hi Hollie

This sudden wave of panic is quite normal when recovering.  Side effects can linger for months, but they will ease in time.  During recovery you'll get many ups and down, and waves of panic too that appear out of the blue.  The ups and downs can last hours, days and weeks ..... weeks to by feeling great then suddenly you're down or have a panic moment.  This is all normal, and slowly the down times and panic will get less until they are no more.  Just accept them, know they'll pass, and move on.   They'll be a thing of the last eventually.

Forgot to add - many people make the mistake thinking these ups and downs are just them being ill again and have their dose upped or change meds.  This is a normal part of recovery that seems to have to go through, and upping meds will just give you side effects again.  Ride through them all - its a sure sign that your meds ARE working, not the other way round.

Patience ..... you're doing well.  This is just a normal part of recovery.

Thanks for the replies. Still feeling abit of anxiety today I'm not seeing my doctor till 27th of this month. Might try switching tablets just scared of side effects happening all again when starting them. If still bad tomorrow might see another doctor just to see if they can give me something to ease the anxiety abit till I see my doctor in a couple of weeks. x
