Has anyone been on 100mg with minimal help for depression but then moved up to 150mg and felt much better and nearly back to normal... enjoying stuff again?

    Hi there

After the first increased from 50mg to 100mg, it did get easier moving to 150mg. Im now on 200mg a day and it has helped me. I still get down days and it can hit me very hard especially when my period comes.

Mostly I feel good but some days can be hard. I try my best to push through it all.

Give yourself time, im sure youve found the right dose for you. Onwards and upwards.

    God bless

Hi, thank you for your reply x How long have you been on SERT amd how long on each dose? I have started week 12 on SERT and 3rd week on 150 today. My depression and anxiety have worsened since the increase so I hope I can feel more improvements soon. I really hope Sert helps me as I can't imagine to come off it and starting something else....Do you enjoy things now? Did it tale you long to feel better?xxx

Oh wow, that is far too soon to jump from one dose to another. I started on 50mg for around 10 weeks, then went to 100mg to see if that dose was correct. After a further 10 - 12 weeks I realised that I was a little better but still was only at 50% better. Finally went to 150mg and felt much better after the dose settled. People including me always worry about the dose increasing and the side affects but I now tell myself better to get the side affects now and get better rather than continue to go on the way I had been. I still get down days but nothing like before and the down days dont last long compared to what I had before. I socialise and have a laugh, work my way through my bad times and keep busy when those come.

Have faith in yourself and the strength you have. Dont be afraid to talk to loved ones and write how you feel. Let it out and dont dwell on the thoughts and negativity.

      God bless xx

      To HopeNfaith.

What a lovely positive write up.

I up to 100mg 8 weeks ago just beginning to feel more positive and I know I dont feel as bad as before. And a lot better than when on Citlapram.

whether I stay on this dose I will discus with my Dr.

I suppose everyone is different. Depends how low the Seratonin is.

Im glad I persevered through the side effects.

      Thank you for your input.

And good health to you & everyone who reads this.

I was off work a while but managed to find a dose that got me back on track. Do not put pressure on yourself, easier said than done I know but it will make you feel worst. I started back to work part time then slowly moved to more hours until I felt strong enough to work full time again.

I really do feel like my old self most of the time apart from at my lady time but thats a hormonal

imbalance. I remember a time that I couldnt leave my room or stop to cry and shake. If food went near my lips I would be sick. I had horrible thoughts and sweats as well as insomnia.

I made myself go on walks and forced myself to be around family and friends also had a diary and spoke to family about how I felt.

I noticed after a while I slowly started to feel better in the afternoons and that I could eat a little. Each day I started to see myself doing a little more.

Praise yourself for it as its a big step. I started watching movies again, but happy ones. I stayed away from the News or anything negative as I noticed it triggered my anxiety.

You will get there, just take a step at a time. If you feel overwhelmed take a deep breathe in and out slowly and count to 10. do that two or three times. It helped me with panic attacks.

If you cant sleep, read a book or try the hypnosis for sleeping. There are free apps on App stores.

Also don't tell yourself you need to sleep, that will put more pressure on you.

Sertraline will help you when it takes the full affect to sleep. I noticed that once I was

feeling better I didnt wake up feeling so light headed or like I hadnt slept. I started to feel well rested.

Remember to smile. Things will get better.

      God Bless x

      Hi Chris,

I wanted to show that there is a light. The journey starts horribly but gets better each day.

There is already so much negativity in this world.

I am so happy to hear that you're feeling better. If you feel that you need a higher dose then try and see. Monitor how you're feeling each day, I

think you will be able to feel it.

I found that when going up a dose after 12 weeks, the side affects weren't as bad. The meds are already in your system.

I hope you continue to feel better and find your way. You're doing great.

      God bless x

      Hi Dodo,

This happened to me before and I had to build myself up again.

I have children too and I know it can be difficult. But think of it as a positive motivation. When you feel so low, your children give you hugs and make you laugh.

You will slowly start to feel better, it takes around 12 weeks to feel the full affect of the Meds. Everyone is different and I've known people to feel the affects a little quicker than I did which is great.

Don't put pressure on yourself and remember you're a strong person. You may not feel it at the moment but in a few months time you will look back and see how far you've come .

      God Bless x

      Been on 100mg 8 weeks. before 8wks 50mg.

Iv been feeling more motivated and I know I feel better than before. No neg thoughts for a few days. Then today that awful thought arrived from no where just when I was thinking how well Im doing. Sabatash ???? Why do I treat myself like that. I want to live and enjoy my life & family.

Im still getting tension head aches. Only panic couple of times a day. so I know everything is not as bad. And lots of side effects has gone.
