15th day and so exhausted

Hello my friends, I seem to be so drained at the moment, everything is such an effort. Started off ok yesterday morning, walking about, doing my exercises, then slept the rest of the day. Woke up this morning feeling So worn out. I've always been able to push the limits, but am struggling to even do the basics at the moment. Feeling lazy, and guilty. 💖

Just read some of your other replies - loving the comfy clothes and all the keeping busy - then sinking back into comfortable positions - this forum is just so wonderfully helpful ! I love knowing that all of you out there are doing what I am doing .

I hope you were able to get some more hours of sleep -

this forum has kept me sane and still is - at some point when I was a couple of weeks post-op, I had issue using the toilet - how do you do that ??? home health nurse couldn't answer this important question ...and lo and behold, like on cue a discussion was initiated about this very same topic - from then on, instead of feeling frustrated and sorry for myself, I knew that, when I got out of bed for the umpf time at night, there were so many others around the world doing the same ...

on crutches, behind walker, trying not to fall and relieved to have made it on time ... then getting up, shuffling back and get into bed ... until the next time ...

Don't feel guilty it is very early days, your body will tell you that you can do more, and it is so frustrating when you want to do some thing and you cant

Hello Marilyn, Too right chick, so frustrating. I find myself just sitting on the edge of the bed in a trance, just looking at my slippers, willing them to just place themselves on my feet, and 10 minutes have passed without me realising. I hope this fatigue passes soon, then I can probably feel a bit more positive. warmest wishes Julia.xxx

Hey, I'm with you today, walked to the end of our road yesterday it took about 10 mins, I slept for 2 hours, slept all night last night from about 10 til 6am , came downstairs at 6 to see Neil off to work and then slept on the settee til 9.30 - and I still have no energy. So I guess it's a lazy day for me today. I'm sure it's fine Julia - when you are back to being fit and healthy you will be desperate for a sit down !!!!!

    take care, love Malloo x

Hello again Malloo, I hope you are enjoying your well earned lazy day chick, I'm still trying to builld up the energy, and courage to take a shower. My husbands off to work tonight, he took a couple of unpaid weeks off to look after me, so I'm going to have to be a bit more independ, which probably is a good thing, being waited on can become habit forming. I wonder if this fatigue has anything to do with the anaesthics I was given. Well done for the walking down the street, I have only managed the walk from the car to the doctors surgery outside, although I am managing to walk round the house quite easily. I'm sure you're right about the being desperate for a sit down when life gets back to normal, all that housework building up, just for me, can't wait. Take care Malloo, enjoy your day. xxxx

Hi Julia - every time I sat downyesterday, I fell asleep - I did absolutely nothing constructive! , and I slept all night!  Today I am going to stay awake .ive got such a good book, and the weather is gorgeous.  Hope you are having an energetic day, I did giggle when I saw your post about staring at your slippers - willing them to get on your feet. I really know what you mean. - I am forever gazing into space , imagining a job done - then it's still there - not done . Got to go - border terriers are playing a good game with my glasses case and my glasses are ( or were) inside . X

      cheesygrin Good morning girls

I so relate to that and I am so much longer post-op than y'all =even more frustrating and feel guilty and yeah, ashamed at times -

but what to do about it ??? my eyes just close down -

healing, physically and emotionally, takes a lot of energy - 24 hours/7 days - hence the insomnia at night and sleepiness during the day -

enjoy your day .... go with the flow and know that all is well ...

      really is

      angel blessings

      renee
