16 and lump near anus - high anxiety

Posted this to the Health Anxiety forum too...

I can't believe I'd have to type something like this...but I swear I was fine just the other day, minus my consistently high running stress/anxiety.depression/hypochondria.

But, I checked this morning and felt a strange lump near...there, and upon further inspection noticed it was red both on the lump and around it. It's just to the right of...that place and really embarrassing! I get yelled at for complaining a lot, so I'm afraid to bring it up.

It sometimes hurts if I sit directly on it or push on it, bu I also have been not very active at all the past week, and mainly have been on my bed for at least 23/7.

I don't have a fever or anything, but for the past couple of days until 2 days ago I was fairly constipated and I haven't gone at all #2 since, though that's fairly normal for me, I've had these problems /w bowel movements since I was younger, and I'm aware I don't eat healthy. I've convinced myself it's some fatal disease or something. Please help??

Also as a note, I've mentioned my EXTREMELY high stress + anxiety, but it's possible I also have IBS as well, if the rumbling, excessive gas, and occasional pain in my stomach/abdomen means anything.

No itching at all! Just sore to sit on and very red around it. I'm starting now to switch my diet, but if it is piles, is it possible it'll go away on its own? I've never had this happen before and it's really embarrassing...!

      Hiya

Its certainly no fatal disease and I know it can be extremely embarrasing for things like this at your age (At any age actually!)  But try not to worry because as Shirley says its almost certainly a boil - I had loads when I was your age - Very painful until they pop - If the lump is not directly next to your bum hole then thats what it is - Just a boil and it will go by itself after a week

Again like Shirley says it would tend to itch more than actually be painful

Its very doubtful to have piles at 16 but if it is right next to your bum hole

Then find some vaseline or use soft soap and with a bit of toilet paper see if you can push it back up inside your bum - If it goes in then Thats a Pile!

You won't have IBS either so try and eat properly (I know thats like asking a cat to love mice) but you must certainly get more excercise and get off that bed and at least go for a walk round every Day

Lack of excercise at 16 will CERTAINLY give you constipation

And parants will always Yell at you for Complaining Thats their job biggrin Just like its your job as a Teenager to carry on Complaining lol biggrin

But if you are still worried after another week go and make an appointment with your family GP - the Parants don't need to know - and try not to be embarrassed when you go and also mention ALL of your concerns - Its the Doctors job to listen to everything you say - You are the Boss and they work for you! biggrin Its only a body bit after all and you will feel much better afterwards cheesygrin

      Hope that helps

      Dave

There hasn't been any itching at all! Only pain if I move or sit a lot. Further inspection shows it's slightly off to the side of...there, and not directly on or in or anything like that. I've been trying vaseline which I've had saved, but it doesn't seem to do much of anything....could this still be a boil? It seems to have spread to form an odd line of sorts...

Well it dosent sound like piles anyway

So it will probably just be bolis or teenage rash-spots etc

Best to not put vaseline on as the oil makes spots and bolis worse

Just try to keep it clean and dry and if its not gone in a week or so then arrange to see your doc

These things will tend to come and go through life and will just disappear as quick as they come biggrin

It certainly won't be anything serious or to worry about though I should think and definately not life threatening lol

I know its embarrasing for you but it would be best if you could see your doc then at least you would get some cream or medication for whatever it is

Try doing a salt bath a couple of times a day as this should ease the pain and help sterilise the area. In the meantime, give you GP a call. They've seen far worse and won't b embarrassed or uncomfortable. I know it's hard to do and you'll feel silly and embarrassed but don't. It's all natural and they r there to help. There's no reason in the world why you should put up with pain and discomfort. And five minutes of discomfort is worth it to take the worry and pain away. You could also try taking couple of pain killers but don't take for too long or without having seen your doctors. You'll come out with a prescription and the feeling of relief and wishing you'd done it sooner. You can always ask for a woman doctor too. Good luck x
