17 days after surgery

So far I'm pleased with the results I've not had any pins and needles or pain like I had before the operation. The skin around the scar is dry and still tight, my thumb is swollen and don't have much movement in it yet.
Can't use my hand yet to lift anything, push anything, undo lids, do buttons or do my hair! Was hoping to start driving but tried yesterday and couldn't even turn the key. Meant to go back to work next week so will see how this week goes.
Should I go to GP and get everything checked or is this normal?!

so pleased it is going well in terms of the pain and pins and needles. I would suggest you rub cream into the scar very regularly and press hard on any lumpiness if it is not too painful.
the swelling in your thumb needs sorting and I would phone the physiotherapy dept. of the hospital where you had the op. and ask advice from them. One thing I found helpful was having a bowl of icy water and a bowl of very hot water and putting your hand in them alternately for as long as you can stand the heat/cold.
i am now almost 4 months post op. and delighted with the outcome so hope it goes as we'll for you

I've been putting bio oil on the scar, not rubbing it in tho.
I still can't touch my little finger with my thumb, I've not had any physio.
Im pleased with the scar (as well as you can be) as looks like its healing well but every morning I wake up very uncomfortable where my palm is tight, my fingers have dry skin and all peeling.
How long did it take you to be able to use your hand to grip and drive?
