17 y/o having Reflux symptoms for 1 year. What could it be?

Hi ya’ll, so I just turned 17, I’m a male weighting 87 kg and 180cm tall. I’ve been living with constant reflux for a year. I believe this was genetically inherited from my father as he also suffers from GERD for 20 years but is on Nexium during that period. However, I do not share the same symptoms as GERD, I dont have heartburn but I do have a feeling of like the food/acid coming up in my throat after I eat or when I’m sleeping and nowadays a lump like feeling too, which I believe is Globus. I was taken to a doctor and he gave me Nexium 40mg believing I had GERD, which I was on and off, they help but not always, I usually take one in the morning and another in the night, which didn’t the trick, but I would sleep with this feeling in my throat and wake up days with soar throats aswell, which got me paranoid if they’d work. Ever since then I stopped for a while and I’ve taken a sip of Gavescon which does the trick too, however now I’m back on 20mg Gasec as prescribed by my GP and Gavescon but that works sometimes too. I still wake up in the mornings with soar throats and sleep sometimes with the feeling of something coming up or Globus, but I believe it’s because I wasn’t too consistent and take them periodically, plus I’m on no diet, I just eat, but I’ve stopped gassy drinks or fatty foods late night. Sometimes though even if i take the pills I don’t feel anything in my esophagus but on the top of my mouth it burned and on closer inspection I saw white mucus, that was just recently though. I also speculate I have LPR (silent reflux) because my symptoms are similar to it not to GERD, but researching a little more it’s diagnosis is hard and treatment again depends on the diagnosis. I really want to know what to do, What do I have? What should I do? Any time I’ll recover from this? But thankfully I’m going to a highly specialized Gastroenterology doctor on the 22nd, which both my dad and I will see to checkup and hopefully resolve this once and for all. So wish me luck.

Did you get a diagnosis? Also from what I know the most accurate way to diagnose lpr and gerd is endoscopy I have lrp at 19 years old so it's not common in our age but it happens
