Yes, 17 years without a drop. Before that about half a litre of whisky most days. Thanks for the help and encouragement from this site.

Hi Sadie. That's a start! I used to count the days and felt really pleased when I finished a whole week. The thought of going back to 0 made me keep going. The urge to have 'just one drink' is still there. Someone suggested non alcoholic whisky etc but I realised that it wasn't the taste I enjoyed but the effect. Keep going. One day at a time ...

Well done and what an achievement. I am sober 11 years and had 0% Champagne from France with my wife on 31st December who also stays sober.
