Why did you eat bacon. That is the worst thing to eat with no gallbladder. I still won't eat bacon or hotdogs. It will take a few days to get back to normal. Your body is in shock. Way too much fat intake. Drink a lot of fluids you need to flush out the impurities. Also try to flush with organic apple cider vinegar. I know you are hurting. Hang in there.

Hi Sue, my heart goes out to you! We all make mistakes it’s what makes ya human. It’s difficult to know what to eat, but would advise staying on a low fat diet mainly. I’m only 7 weeks post op this week coming. It’s very difficult when your caring for your husband at this time. If the symptoms you mentioned your experiencing don’t improve I would definitely see your Doctor just to make sure you are ok.

I’ve had several operation in my life but would say that going through this surgery was the worst! In my recovery and adjusting after the surgery with food in general a d feeling nauseous.

I get very fatigued since and I have been looking after my partner recently when he was ill and working to help him but I soon was aware when I over did things.

Plus packing to move pretty soon! I truly hope your both well soon kind regards Joanne

Well there's a lesson learned Bacon is what made me very ill after I had the all clear from colonoscopy for Divertic, i was really ill which proved the Gall Bladder was the culprit.   Do not fel bad because if I had my Gall Bladder out I would have done the same thing not that I eat Bacon much anyway but I do like it.  Having suffered with it with my Gall Bladder in I do not think I would try it even if I get to have it taken out, simply because over the last year when I have been so severely poorly I know what it does to me and the fact that a low fat Diet means to the Gall Bladder in.  You will hear some people can eat this food after removal, such as sausages but I'm not sure I would risk it.   However the temptation may be that I would cut off ALL the rind and fat.  As you have replies a detox is needed and plenty of fluids will help, I would give hope in the fact you should become better quickly rather than when you had the Gall Bladder because it made me sick for weeks, so without the Gall Bladder I suspect days but a reminder from your body to watch it for the moment?

Hi Sue I do hope you feel better. Bacon is yummy but perhaps have medallions? Less fat. Also fry in non stick pan so you don’t need to add oil/butter. Oh how I miss butter!!

I’m seeing consultant in two weeks hopefully to take out gallbladder in the coming months. I can eat some naughties but have to be careful.

After op I hope to eat more fats but manage the type and quantity. I think it’s possible to eat lovey food but I’m going to listen to my body. My gallbladder is unhappy at moment (managed gallstones for 5 years) so at moment I’m not even eating healthy fats like avocado which I’m really missing. Also missing smoked salmon. Both were staples at breakfast time time three weeks ago. But had gallbladder attack so stopped eating these normally healthy foods.

I hope you and yours are better soon. Xx
