19 year old // radiating chest pain that moved to arms/armpit/fingers

About 2 weeks ago I was having moderate shocking type pains on both sides of my chest. I also ate unhealthy foods 2 weeks prior to when the chest pain started. About a few days ago my chest pain has subsided with jabbing or shocking type pains coming very slightly throughout the day. However, the pain has now moved along my right arm mostly, right next to the armpit. This radiating pain also sometimes moves to my forearm and fingers as well. The pain happens on my left arm as well but not as much as the right.
I’m at 19 year old male who is fairly skinny. I also have a heart murmur and have had no family history with heart problems.

Hi henry25490, similar symptoms with me and I'm 58 yrs old...I reported the chest pain to the MD and EKG's were done in the hospital and those tests were negative for heart attack so I have been living with it trying all sorts of home remedies or self remedies using ice packs, heat, Tylenol ( you can ask doctor about anti-inflammatory medications ) and even trying to compress with ace bandages and elbow sleeves for my arms which do help the pain; these compression elbow sleeves can be bought on amazon, but I don't wear for long periods of time.. the Medical Doctor says could be related to muscles in our chest which we have. I would suggest that you do see a cardiologist though and tell them about all your symptoms just to rule out things. I guess she would do things like stress tests, etc...I also believe some of my pain is related to injury and a blood pressure medication because the ace inhibitors (blood pressure med.) are known to cause inflammation and my pain starts up or gets worse as soon as I take the BP med so you may want to check out all your meds to see if any cause weird side effects. Fibromyalgia also has very strange symptoms which I seem to have except doesn't really matter because they all need treatment because of the pain. I recently heard that taking anti-biotics also takes away good things in our bodies and i'm wondering if that could be a problem with me as I took anti-biotic 4x in the past 2 years..have blood work done to check on vitamin levels, etc...I was told I had a heart murmur and then when I was in the hospital they never said any such thing and I had a heart monitor on so I just dismiss the heart murmur plus I have family related heart probs too but I dismiss that; why worry about our families health problems; just concentrate on your own...seriously it will make you crazy..good luck and try some ice and heat depending on what works better but I will say the elbow sleeves are very affordable and they do help with support and relieving pain...they also sell shoulder support and I bought one, but not quite right for under the arm area; rotor cup or cuff whichever it is...I did over use my arms and I think I caused injury or it's just showing up now after the fact; think about that for yourself too; did you injure yourself possibly ? good luck and get better soon...

Hi Henry, I'm recovering slowly from similar symptoms, I've had xrays, bloods all negative. A few weeks before I was lifting heavy furniture and pulling a heavy load, then bam I was in total pain all in my chest, and upper back even my throat and jaw because of this I started having panic attacks and other strange symptoms. Even thought I was having g a heart attack new years eve, turns out was another panic attack but a big one. Was given naproxen and stomache protection tabs unfortunately did nothing, what has helped is lying on my electric blanket and heat packs, I've been off work for nearly a month and rested, gradually I'm recovering. I have had no real diagnosis from docs just anxiety, I had anxiety because of the pain anyway I looked on Dr Google (bad idea) but my symptoms matched an evil thing called costochondritis (chest wall pain) I had it from the waist, upper back, shoulders, neck, chest etc and pins and needles in arms and weakness, I can see now I totally overused my body big time and did some damage. With rest and relaxation to control my mind I'm slowly recovering. All I can say is rest, heat, ice, ibuprofen gel or olbas oil and try not to stress, O and deffo visit your doc to rule out any serious issues, good luck and a speedy recovery and try not to worry anxiety dies make things much worse
