19 yrs old, 2 ovarian cysts, How can I ease my pain?

Hello,

I am 19 years old and both my mother and grandmother have had ovarian cysts chronically, however they have not had pain like I am having. Starting weeks ago; my period was late (was not pregnant), I had PMS cramps but no period, I had nausea every few days and a significantly lessened appetite. I knew I had an ovarian cyst at this point through self diagnoses from my family members experiences and research I had done. I found most go away no problem so I brushed it off. Until yesterday. I woke up early to excrutiating pain in my lower abdomen and intense nausea and pain when I bore down even just to pee. I went to the ER where CT scans and an ultrasound determined I have 2 cysts, one on each ovary. One is about 1.3 cm the other is 2 cm. I had no free floating fluid in my abdomen so I did not burst any. They gave me motrin, told me to follow up with a gyn, and sent me on my way. I do have an appointment with my gyn for a couple days from now but although the pain has lessened, the intensity varies throughout the day. My heating pad is the only relief I can find but I work 6 hour shifts on my feet and have little relief then. Please help me lessen this pain!

I had very similar symptoms with my 12cm cyst on the left ovary. I found that mixing pure lavendar oil with a little cooking oil and rubbing it on the affected area took away a lot of the pain and tightness I was feeling. Other than that, keep heat compresses on (don't sleep with them!!!) hot baths with lavendar or eucalyptus oil, keeping on top of pain medication and hot drinks also helped a lot! Hope you get sorted soon hun, I'm only 20 so I can understand how hard it is when you're so young!

Thank you for the response! I've heard essential oils and castor oil both help. I am curious as to how it works but very excited to try it! Thank you for your advice.

I honestly have no idea how it works, it's something to do with the anti-inflammatory properties of the lavendar smile you're very welcome, I hope you get sorted soon!

So sorry you're in such pain. Try a tens machine. I used mine while I was at work and it worked a treat. Heat pads also great but not very convenient.
