Hi everyone not been on here for a while but been a member since 2015. I had my first hip replacement 2015, and 2nd March 2018 this year . Unfortunately they have both failed first one loose and broke screws , 2nd one due to CT last week has micro movement and cracked . I am meeting with my Consultant on Monday with a specialist due to having reconstruction of my pelvic . I am wondering if anyone else has gone through this?? any feed back will be appreciated .

Kindest regards Lynne x

Sorry to hear this, i had 3 replacements in the space of 5 years all left side. My first snapped and second came loose, currently my third is doing ok. I still get the odd twinge but third time lucky i guess! With each one the recovery has been that little bit harder and longer. Hope you get it sorted

I had my THR in October 2015, the ceramic was inserted incorrectly, so underwent revision January 2016, which failed to move it.

I had been under supervision of another surgeon at a different hospital (RNOH Stanmore in UK) ... and all was well until the ceramic suddenly failed. The shattered ceramic went into my muscles, very painful, so I had a third operation to remove the debris, and fit new parts. They were absolutely wonderful at my new hospital - it is the top UK orthopedic hospital.

First one was screwed into my pelvis, my new one has no screws - must be a better fit in the pelvis.

I am now recovering better and faster than ever, back in the gym and I was cleared to play golf at just 10 weeks!

Lynne, that is sad news and such bad luck! I'll be thinking about you and sending good thoughts your way on Nov 22, which is Thanksgiving Day here in the U.S. You are due for lots of good luck, and may things turn out very well this time. Take care! 😍 ❤️ 🥰
