This is a completely normal reaction to starting antidepressants, don't stop taking them! At the moment, you're naturally worried becuse you're unsure what these tablets are going to do (side effects wise) but your anxiety will be worse because the serotonin levels in your brain is now starting to change so your brain will think that something bad is happening when in fact it isn't. I know its horrible to start with but after a week or two, your brain will get used to them and they will kick in properly. However if they give you really bad side effects after this amount of time, go back to your doctor because it may be that you need to try another tablet.

So do you think I should cut my dose in half...to 25 mg..so I don't get sick...and should I take the xanex til I get through it

I think you should stick to your prescribed dose for now. Maybe you could ring your doctor tomorrow and see what they think smile

Laura has given you some good advice. I wish you the best and hope your anxiety settles down soon.

I'm not currently on meds but I'm considering starting an ssri as I'm currently doing CBT but not improving. Do you also suffer from depression or is the sertraline for your anxiety?
