Am interested in any views - weight loss, whilst on this pill. I am on day 1 an am being monitored by my GP for blood pressure etc. I was on Orlistat but believe me it didnt do my any favours. I wont go into too much detail here, check out the forum on the site and see for yourself the horrendous side effects associated with Oralistat and I was that much of a fool I read the site and still popped the pill. :? :?
Please do let me know how you are all getting on and if poss diet tips.
Looking forward to receiving your responses and also losing the weight!! :D

Sibutramine or Reductil as its more commonly known is an appetite suppressant. Orlistal, or Xenicol...the one`s we`re on....are lipase inhibitors. That means that they prevent the body from absorbing 1/3rd of the fat from the foods we eat. (Obviously to encourage the body to \"munch\" the fat we already have stored)
Possibly the side effects referred to are the ones uve ready about. o/oil...when too much fat has been eaten.
Ive certainly not had any negative experiences as yet and this is my 3rd week on tabs.
Good Luck

Hi Clare88
just read comment which was sent in response to your query relating to the side effects. 'Too much fat' - I have been following the weight watchers point plan very carefully. The fat content is monitored to the extreme, trust me. The side effects I was relating to is in fact the o/oil - no warning and no sensation as it leaves your body  At the time it happened to me I was wearing beige trousers   I'll leave the rest for to work out :!: :!:
It is true, and the statutory leaflet within the packaging clearly lists side effects however, when I discussed the 'leakage' to my doc and we went over, with a fine tooth comb, my eating plan she decided that it wasnt for me. I write down everything I eat on the weight watchers plan and take that to my class when I go. The o/oil I experienced certainly wasnt due to a high fat meal.
As in my previous msge, you and you alone will know if its right for you.
All I was saying was that I studied the forum and was fully up to speed with the side effects and still decided to pop the pill!! How stupid was I :D GOOD LUCK
