Hey Sarah. It certainly sounds like gallbladder to me. I which case there is only one way to stop the pain apart from removal of the gall bladder and that is a FAT FREE diet. I had mine removed 6 weeks ago now and i am still in pain but its getting better slowly. Begore surgery i managed to stop the pain almost entirely by gping fat free but its hard work wink

Hi Sarah, sorry you are not feeling well. I do not understand how the doctor can just assume it is your gall bladder.  I would suggest that you go back in within 24 hours of having such pains and ask for a liver blood test along with a complete blood test.  If you have gall bladder problems, it will show up in your liver blood count and then they can order an ultra sound to confirm.  Blood test can show a lot.

Thanks Paula yep I thought that with the doctor assuming! I think where im not I pain now just a dull ach is it worth it? what are the chances of just dieing down then coming back just feeling slightly sick afther eating is that part of it?

Sarah, I suffered for at least three years with made diarehea and bad pains always thinking "it was the chocolate" or "it was the meat".... the pain got so bad that I had to lay in bed for a few hours to regroup.  I did not go to the doctor cause I just thought it was something I ate.  Go get blood test and ask for ultrasound, it could be stones or something else.  The last thing you want it to be rushed to hospital with a big stone stuck in your bile duct or something else.

Could be gallstones.  You need ultrasound scan to check this out.

In the meantime keep to a low fat or even no fat diet.

Hope this setlles down for you

Take care and keep in touch

    Love Sarah xx

If under ribs more likely. to be gallbladder or hetius Hernier or acid reflux If down right side gron could be appendixes Whatever plan in back can be number of things like kidney stones,If you later get urine infection you will know Tramodol is a very painkiller that if taken over a long period it can.affect your stomach. as in. cause stomach upsets strong painkillers This will not help if you have any gallbladder condition other Your doctor should told you to drink water and possible clear soup light diet but fluids essential. Believe me if eating crumpets didn't give you pain unlikely to be your gallbladder as would cause you heartburn ten.fold I'm not sure from what you say exactly where your pain is except on right but it depends where, I suggest if in.alot pain go to AE mainly gallbladder pain causes pain under ribs and above belly button navel and you would double over with pain Plus may vomit and have diarrhoea. you also don't say if you had temperature which would indicate a flare up plus high blood pressure other Hope this helps I use to be a nursing assistant now retired and have had my gallbladder out keyhole.

Thank you I didn't have a temperature the pain was on my right side in the middle og my side my & the pain was in & around my ribs I thought I'd pulled a muscle tje pain was something else.. to be honest im not sure what it was today @ the very bottom on my right side of my back the trunk as such quite hurts like a stinging a pain cant get back into the doctor's untill tomorrow. still feel nausea don't feel like wating but think thats due to where I haven't eaten much.

    Hi.

My god do I feel your pain!!! It's awful and wouldn't wish it on anyone!! I went thru 5 months of small flare ups, the doctors kept telling me it was acid reflux.....I'm now sat here 1 week and 2 days post gall bladder removal op (full of stones and 3 were the size of medium sized marbles) I was having bloods done weekly right up until I was admitted from clinic (appointment to talk about having gallbladder out) with an horrendous infection which landed me in hospital for 4 days on IV antibiotics and then an oral course for 7 days.

It sounds like the start of what I have been thru, keep fighting and you will have to push, I ended up having to have an ambulance out my second to last flare up and my last flare up I ended up at an out of hours doctor in a hospital at 5am, 24 hours later I was admitted!!!

Also if you know something isn't right keep pushing as I didn't have a temperature at all I had to have bloods done to show that something was wrong apart from the outward signs of hardly being able to hold my head up, couldn't sleep, in agony.

Good luck. Always welcome to private message of you want to know more xx

Keep fighting what makes me mad the total waste of NHS money all those tests doctors hospital. procedures not listening to the patient when I kept saying I have all the symptoms of something wrong my gallbladder I had blood tests came back normal accordingly I didn't have a temperature. Had blood my urine though often because Obs passing sand like stones. Numerous the worst stones to have causing multiple pain All they put down to stress as doubled over when at work sent me home after my op they gave me my stones like in a jar. I opened it up curious touched one and it fell into tiny grains of sand All I can say is to keep fighting insist on.a ultra sound Just I cannot. understand why when surley in the long run would cost less. money time suffering of NHS funds to have done in first place. P's until recent exray was not even told had 3 metal clips where they seal end off when they remove your gallbladder!! I said to radiologist. what clips He said there permanent. That's how knew. had your gallbladder. removed.!!

Sorry I forgot to say I was diary free apart from a tiny bit of flora light as this is the lowest fat spread I could find and even then it was scrapped on and scrapped back off, in the end my entire meal was lower than 3 grams of fat, I lived on soup, pasta and chicken, mints occasionally and the odd few wine gums as they're fat free ☺️xx

Did you go see a doctor? I really would. I'd been suffering attacks on and off for three years and because the attacks would stop suddenly, I thought it would just be a waste of time if I went to see a doc and I'd be fobbed off. It landed me in hospital for nine days eventually and I was pretty poorly. Gallstones should be ruled in or out pretty easily with a blood test and then ultrasound. Don't let it fool you. Gallstones can make you pretty unwell if not treated.
