1st Pizotifen tablet

I have used Sumatriptan for years to treat migraine, but yesterday was prescribed Pizotifen because the frequency of my migraines (2 three-dayers a week) was affecting my work.

I took the first pill last night at about 11pm and I can't believe how it's made me feel. I am extremely dizzy, confused and dopey. I was actually scared driving to work today. It's now 4.30pm the and I still feel like I'm out of it generally. Do I take another tonight? All my instincts say no.

Lots of people here are reporting tiredness symptoms but is this really what I'm supposed to go through? Did anyone else feel like this?? Does it go away?

I'm seriously thinking about not taking any more. I feel like I've poisoned myself!!!

    Hi

My boyfriend starting taking these 2 weeks ago an felt exactly like you at first.

He still feels very groggy in the morning - and takes a couple of hours to get going - but this wears off as the dya progresses. (Fortunately he does not have drive far to work).

He is still getting headaches - but they are getting better - shorter and less frequent

    Good luck!

Persevere with the meds, the first couple of weeks does make you really drowsy etc., but it will settle down and well worth it in the end. As a chronic migraine sufferer for over 30 years, this is the only med that helps big time and I sure prefer to feel a bit sleepy then have migraines four times a week, its a small price to pay.

Start on the smaller dose then work your way up, no drug is without its downside but you have to equate it with the up side,,,,,,,,

You are not supposed to drive while on Pizotifen. Don't take any more would be my advice. see the post I just submitted re: this evil drug!

    Good luck
