First of all I'm glad I have somebody to share my pain with that understands. I was in a car accident and tore both rotator cuffs. I will be having 1st Surgery next week and the other side done in a few months. I haven't slept in months not good anyway

I've had back surgery and neck surgery and this pain from just being torn is horrendous. I can only imagine what I will feel like after surgery. I'll check back in a couple weeks and I'll be praying for yall.

Dear kerri, oh my gosh. So sorry for your pain!! I only had one rotator cuff torn and that was awful. Very little sleep from the pain. I don't know how your other injuries affected your sleep, but with the rc, I ended up sleeping in my recliner a lot, and after surgery it was a MUST! Find out everything you are allowed to do after the surgery and before your post op appointment. Therapy and exercise will be key, but you already know that I would think.

Next month it will be a year since my surgery. I still get aches and occasional pain, but living quite normally again. Healing took a long time, which is normal for shoulders. I wish you the best. Keep us posted. smile

    Hi kerri

I don't know how to advise you!

I had RC repair end Oct 16 having not been able to fully move my arm for sometime. Following surgery I was dependant on my other arm, consquently come Dec 16 horrible pain in that one. Ultra sound and yes RC tear on that one. As I had limited ability to do anything as only out of sling for two weeks I was given cortisone injection and extra physio just to maintain it until the other healed.

From my experiences, my thoughts are with you.

I hope you have enough people around who can support you with daily living as I think you will struggle. If you can bear the pain hang on as long as you can so you have some use of your operated arm.

I second the use of a recliner.

    Good luck
