1st timer on Zopiclone

My doc prescribed Zopiclone to me for ongoing sleep problems (getting to sleep and staying asleep) due to anxiety issues.

Last night I took it for the first time. I was surprised how quickly it took effect - I felt like I was getting high, colours on the TV appeared brighter and I felt weird. I fell asleep within 10 mins of taking it at 9.30pm and didnt wake until 2.30am. I got back to sleep easily enough and then woke about 3 more times until I got up at 6.30am. Normally I wake a few times each hour throughout the night, so it was a big improvement for me.

This morning I feel spaced out, but calm. Now wondering if I should continue - I like feeling less stressed and sleeping more but am a bit freaked out by the side effects. Its now noon and I still feel spaced out and weird.

I have taken Zoplicone several times both full strength and half strength, it is wonderful, I did have a few sleepless nights when I stopped taking it.

If it works for you why not. Some doctors will only give you a weeks supply others a month.

    Hi...

I've suffered from anxiety induced insomnia for a while now...that interspersed with nocturnal panic attacks (which have been coming thick and fast recently) has almost made me terrified to even try to go to sleep and I'm starting to hate my bedroom!!!

The night before last I took my first Zopiclone. Whooooohooo!! About 15 mins after taking it I had the most amazing feeling of peace, I could feel my crazy brain slowing down and my eyes closing. I had the best sleep I've had in months. Took one last night too and that was the same, without a panic attack either night :D

It works very quickly and adequately for me and I don't seem to have the hallucinations (grr) or the groggy feeling the next day. I do have the horrible bitter taste in my mouth though...and that's disgusting, specially when I drink water, which I drink a lot. So now my face looks like a Buldog chewing a nettle. Do they make them without the taste? lol
