I've been feeling better, but occasionally I'm having full blown panic attacks still where i think im having a heart attack or stroke, tingling etc. Should I up my dose? How will i know if the 20mg is right for me.

unfortunately it takes much longer for the tablets to work.

I had two months of symptoms side effects.

Eventually you will have more and mire good days until the full recovery which will certainly arrive.

time of recovery is different for each of us so the perfect dose.

I have used citalopram on and off since 1998 with gaps of 3-4 years.

Always panic disorder/anxiety and each time I had different side effects.

Recovery time has always been 2-3 months.

I normally start as soon as first panic symptoms reoccur.

My initial dose is 5mg in the morning then increases to 20 mg. Increases every three four days. I take 10 mg in the morning and 10 mg in the evening. In the first two weeks if anxiety is unbearable i take benzodiazepines although docs in the Uk are not happy to prescribe them.

For first couple of months i eliminate alchool completely i drink only one coffee a day and i write a journal if symptoms and feelings. Stay positive citalopram works for most cases.

Hope you will feel better soon x

that's a good question....i suppose if you have 3-4 years of meds free than it's worth trying give our system a break
