I had the same side effects plus others from the bisoprolol. I had bisoprolol and rampril too. Read up bisoprolol buddies and you’ll see lots of us have had the same problem. The leg and arm weakness, difficult standing and walking, dizzy, tired, tingling, nightmares, depression, head in a fog.... now I’ve weaned off the betablockers...none of these listed happen now. I was changed to atenolol...same side effects. I’m off all betablockers now...just the rampril 2.5.... no noticeable side effects...my hair is a bit thinner! I have a fib and slightly high blood pressure. Hope this helps.

I certainly did! I was taking bisoprolol..for afib ,then changed to atenolol...approx 6 years, lots of side effects I thought was the a fib until I found this site. I weaned myself off the atenolol..gradually. The weaning off wasn’t easy and I had withdrawal symptoms for about 6 months. ...these were similar to the side effects of the atenolol. I was tired, hot flushes, dizzy turns, depressed, anxious and awful panic attacks.. these becam less frequent as time passed..but we’re frightening at times as they were quite severe, especially the panic attacks. I had a dreadful panic attack at the dentists. I thought I was having a heart attack, so dizzy I couldn’t get out of the chair, after 30 mins..my husband helped me walk to a nearby chair. Eventually I got home, was sick and sat in the car for 2 hours. Thankfully it passed..and I felt fine.

That was only one episode, I do not ever want to take another beta blocker.. whatever happens. My husband has been given my instructions. Taking these, drove me insane. The side effects were horrendous...the withdrawal very difficult over a period of time, but now I’m free!

These Meds may be lifesaving for some..but they’re not for me, I’ll live with my a fib...and take the anti coagulant tablet to prevent stroke

I took a risk...my decision to cut the tablet from 10 to 5 mg. later saw doctor..who said ok, I then cut the tablets again to eventually I took none.

I’m not prescribing this for others...this was my decision,my body, my life.

Hope I’ve helped you. Good luck..not an easy decision to take.

Got doc to change prescription to 5 msg from 10 msg. Then used a kitchen knife and cut the 5 mg tablet into half....each day I’d cut the half..ie 2.5 into smaller pieces... I didn’t miss a day...without taking a small piece. It took me about 2 weeks if I remember rightly to stop them completely. Worth it though....all the withrawal and those life sapping side effects of beta blockers ...gone!

Good luck...don’t worry about the withdrawal..it’s no worse than the side effects when taking this drug.

Same with me, as soon as I took Bisoprolol I described feeling like a drunk Zombie, turned me into an old man over night with constant absolute fatigue, I also felt as if my lungs were no longer working and I would forget to breathe, so right away I cut my 1.25 tablets in half but that didn't stop me nearly collapsing when the nurse couldn't even find my pulse.

Been off them a year now but the symptoms I got from the day I took Bisoprolol remain, in fact the brain fog and dizzyness are getting progressively worst, I think that is a result of the dangerously low blood oxygen I now have when asleep due to my Autonomic Nervous System no longer doing its job properly since it was disrupted by these beta blockers. Lost my job and life now thanks to these pills.

The weakness is not uncommon and I wonder if the electric shock type feelings in your fingers could be circulation as all beta blockers slow things down. Also when we suffer from anxiety , as I do too, I know we amplify symptoms. I wouldn't half your dosage till you discuss with your GP. With me the symptoms subsided but are more obvious in winter (when it's cold anyway. I just adjust my activities . I was a marathon runner so the weakness is an issue but I am happy that my other symptoms are better controlled.

    good luck
