Hope somebody tells me what condition I have .
January 1st nightmare,
I was driving Wash.DC to NY (4 hours) I felt good all morning ,after 1 hr driving suddenly I started to feel unbalance and disoriented so I stopped on the roadside, I walked out to cool down but it didn't go away ,so I laid my seat flat and laid down to wait to improve ,I thought it was a panic attack ,but my symptoms got totally worse ,profuse sweating ,everything spinning and bad nausea ,I thought something terrible was happening so I called the ambulance , in the ER they tested me for stroke ,heart and blood test and they suggested it was Vertigo (never heard it before). They gave me Meclizine and Zofran ,the event lasted about 4 hours.
3 weeks later I had a mild event , I was driving and I felt light imbalance and dizziness ,I slowed down and went home in 15 min.
One day I woke up with it ,I laid back down ,sweating ,after 1 hour it stopped
The last major event in April ,around midnight I felt the symptoms and when I laid down flat it got worse ,sweating a lot everything spinning( counterclockwise )and major nausea so I called the ambulance again ,they gave me Ativan in the ER.
Finally I went to the ENT ,and he suspects Meniere disease , in june I'll do the VNG test at the Ear institute at 14str and 2nd ave.
I also went to the neurologist , EEG , MRI and MRA of the brain were normal .
What do you think my symptoms are ? Has anybody had the same symptoms?
Can you suggest other tests ,or solutions ?
I learned that when the symptons start if I walk for 2 hours the stay mild and eventually go away , laying down is probably the worse thing for me ,why ?
When I took Meclizine it gave me strange symptoms as long as 24 hours.
Thanks

I have had it for years. Was told it was bppv but it has gotten way worse. This time the vestibular rehab did nothing. Sent me up north to the university hospital in Syracuse,NY. ( Also have had all the tests done a few times plus MRI) . Was told I have menieres that's why it's been getting worse and treatments not working. Put me on diuretics to try to get rid of fluid in inner ear. That's what causes the symptoms. It's not working at all. Been dizzy 24/7 since August of last year with episodes of vertigo every day. Have to go back next month to see what's next. There's a bunch of things they can try depending on your case. Steroids also did nothing. They can go threw your ear drum try to draw fluid out. Inject steroids in there, etcetc.

Can't guess your symptoms, but I've a feeling the Nevasic
app may be useful to you.

Do you have tinnitus, fullness of the ears, and/or hearing loss. Without these, you are unlikely to have Meniere's disease.
With the ENT, what did the eye movement examination show?

Yes I have tinnitus ,sometimes very loud ,both ears , fullness of the ear and pressure , the pressure inside the ear often pulsates along with my heartbeat which means pressure on , pressure off , pressure on....etc....
No evidence of unusual eye movements at the visit ,but shouldn't that be happening only during the attack?
I'll try to check during next attack.
Thanks

Hi, yes I have had the same symptoms. Mine started stand about 7 years ago. I had an attack at work and had to be wheeled out in a wheelchair, I could not stand up in was so dizzy and severe nausea. I went to enter. Had the gamet of tests, all negative.no one knew what to do. About a month later the same thing happened at work. Each time I had my symptoms for about 24 to 48 hrs. Long story short this continued and after seeing many doctors shaking their heads I finally found one that helped me. I was given a mixture of steroidstairs injected into my cochlea one week apart. Wow, my symptoms were gone for 7 years!!!. Now here is am present day. My symptoms have started to return but not quite as severe. I have been having bouts of nausea and dizziness frequently, the computer seems to bring it on sometimes. I have been taking an Tiverton every am and that's seems to help. Sometimes I have to take it throughout the day. I will have another injection if it gets worse. I would highly recommend steroid injections as it has literally saves my life.
