2 months on citalopram, when do I know to increase the dose

I've been on citalopram for 2 months (3 weeks on 10mg, 5+ weeks on 20mg). So far I've felt improved appetite, sleep, and energy, but I don't feel consistently good. I switch between some days feeling okay, and other days feeling bad (but still better than before I started on medication). My mood has also increased slightly. I'm wondering when to know if I should increase my dose? I've been told that full effectiveness on the medication is around 8 weeks after last dose increase. Is it worth waiting 3 more weeks to increase? After 8 weeks is a person "stable"? I.e. after 8 weeks do you stop seeing new improvements?

Thanks in advance.

    hi Daniel

I'm at the same stage as you were when you posted, 3 weeks 10mg, 5 weeks 3 days on 20mg.

what I'm wanting to know did you increase to 30mg or did you stop at 20mg.
