    Hello

I dont know if I can help but I can only tell you what little i know.

First its good you are trying to get help, and that you are aware that you need to make changes.

I am familiar with the 5htp, and have tried it off and on with good results.

For me it was used for sleep, and i guess its good for mood.

It seemed to work ever so slightly for me so i became disenchanted, but its natural and it helps some people.

Can you go to a doctor and ask about another antidepressant besides Cit.? Im guessing this is Citalopram?

I believe this is generic for Lexapro?

I dont have your problem of weight gain but i have the opposite whiich is also terrible. I have no appetite.

Tell your doc you are concerned about pregnancy and antidepressants, tell him or her everything.

I think it doesnt matter which AD you take, you need to find the right one that works for YOU. I still have not found one that worked for me because 2 that i tried I hated and had awful side affects.

How do you know you need it all your life?

    I hope you are well,

    xx

You replay means a lot for me

becz i need to hear someone point of view and opinion

Yeah, i have appointments with my doctors but it after one month, So for now i take 5htp to hlpe me be patient until my appointment come

i think it start working but too slow and too little, still not the same i was but i can at least continue my life until i figure out whats honing on

it halo me with my sleep most

      yeah i was on Citlopram

i think some ppl gain weight and some loss , becz of it

my doctor told me that if my symptoms comeback it's batter to be on it all my life , at least on the lowest docse to prevent any future back of depression

i accept that fact now i think :"wink

How long have you been depressed?

Have you had it all your life?

Going off the citalopram slowly is the smartest way.

There are many natural things you can also take that might help.

In Europe, they use St. Johns Wort that is good for depression.

There are supplements, many that people take that can also help.

Ashwaganda, Rhodiola, SAMe, and many more.

I can not advise but I can very much understand completely your suffering.

Write me and I will reply and try to support as im able.

    No worried, ofcourse.

Your mood to normal can be possible.

Just be patient. Usually this type of depression is related to our hormones.

    Post partum, and menopause/perimenopause.

Maybe you will never need the antidepressants again, maybe you will. Either way just do what you need to do to

    find your peace, and comfort.

Nothing is ever the same, its always changing anyways, so adjust to life at every turn in the road.

that is what i do   smile

    thank you
