2 very red, inflamed, painful feet

hi. i started a new job on Monday, and was on my feet for 12 hours in new shoes. the shoes were new, and slightly snug - but its Saturday today, and they have been inflamed, red, and tinged purple at times for over 4 days. I do not have a GP at the moment, as i have just moved to a new area. i went to a drop in centre, which in England is a more limited service. The doctor told me it might be gout, but also prescribed me antibiotics "just in case". He also added he has never seen gout in both feet at the same time. So essentially i was told to, take antibiotics, ibuprofen, elevate feet, ice feet, and stay off feet.

As it will take a while to join a GP and get the blood tests to ascertain a definitive prognosis. Does anyone have any ideas on what else it could be, and whether it might be a good idea for me to skip the GP and go straight to the hospital?
