2 Week post op hysterectomy OUCH

I  was feeling  so much better and then today, OUCH. Pain, hurts to sit, sharp pains shooting in the lower abdomen, and a discharge (pink/brown).  I  had a bladder sling put in as well. HOW do you know when to go to the Dr? I don't want to go to find out I am just being a baby and this is part of the healing process. Does anyone have any advice, quickly!

When you're having this type of pain, it doesn't sound much like the healing process to me.  Especially, if you've been doing well. You may have over done it, that's true, but only a doctor can tell you that you're okay.  xxx

Go to the dr. I had the same problem with the discharge. It was a bacterial infection on top of a uti. I had pain for like 6 weeks tho. It came and went then came again..lol

    Hi Cottageliving,

I just had mine done 2 days ago and I am almost positive there should be no discharge coming out of your wound... Also you are not being a baby.. This is your body you have concerns this is your right to call the dr and get piece of mind.

Hi I had my TAH with everythink taken away 2 yrs in June it sounds to me like you have an infection, ring the ward you were in and ask them they will be more than helpful . My first infection was at 7 days and had them on x off for 5 mths. You need anti biotics. If it is an infection it is usually red round the wound and hot to the touch and you might also feel generally unwell., you can get a discharge or leakage as well Hope you get sorted , but remember not to feel embarrassed about following it up .
