So i used to be on prozac for 8 weeks for anxiety but it didnt work that well, I just switched to Lexapro 20mg and i've had great success with it, the only issue is im extremely tired/foggy head almost all day. Am I on too high of a dose? or should i just wait it out a little longer? how much longer?

Do you take the drug at night? I do and I still felt tired for a while but eventually that passes too.

I tried Escitlopram for 7 wks at 10mg 1 wk then 15mg. Holy Cow. Had to take at Night due to being soooo tired an lethargic during day the whole time I took it. I felt aweful. Didn't want to get up an take kids to school even! Ate like crazy an gained 13lbs (Im in USA). Didnt do anything for depression so I think its a better drug for just severe anxiety not both. It has a histamine in it which results in the sleepiness. It's cousin Citolopram or Celexa doesnt have the histamine but I just got off it an it did same thing except add obtrusive thoughts to it for me. Im on Effexor now 37.5mg day 7. Not laying around anymore for one thing! Goodluck. It does work for alot of people but just not for me.

I've tried lexapro twice, the first time by itself and the second in conjunction with my current medicine. Both times it made me extremely sleepy and foggy headed, not to mention hungry. I had this reaction to all SSRI's I took and I'm now on venlafaxine, which is an SNRI, and a mood stabilizer. It can take weeks for the initial side effects to wear off which sucks. I know this was a couple days ago so have you talked to your doctor about this since then?

i talked to her and she said just stick with it for now. It has gotten a little better, but it's weird, i get random bouts of exhaustion through the day, could be 10am, could be 3pm, it's random.
