2 weeks post op

Hi guys,

Haven't posted since op 2 weeks ago, actual op went well but I had a bad bleed the day after which took some stopping. Then had a horrible reaction to tremadol, nurse said myeyes rolled, instant sweats and halucinations, didn't know where I was. Wont be taking that again. Then had to have a catheter put in whilst awake. Its been fun haha.

Was in hospital for 6 days because of all above. Came home and found first week home difficult, no sleep painful etc.

Had clips out today, 25 of them, but unfortunately started bleeding again. So they have kept 4 of them in until Friday when I have to go back and check in the bleed again. Cant see the bleed coming through this new bandage though.

Its been fun 😂

    Feel for you with the tramadol. I too had a reaction which doc described as a bad fix. This was last year way befor my hip op. It is now written up in my notes. Gabapentin and pregabalin have the same effect

    Hope your bleed sorts itself and you can begin the route to recovery xx

      I had serious psychological side effects with Tramadol. 

      Thoughts of suicide and just very bad thoughts.

      i had my general physician make a house call my fist day home, he gave me codeine instead. Codeine worked really well for me but I was warned on this forum that it is highly constipation so I took a stool softener and drank a full glass of prune juice every day plus drank a lot of liquids. Yeah that Tramadol is nasty.

    Hi there,

    sorry to hear about you complications. I guess I'm thankful I didn't have any pain other than where the incision was made. I spent a week in hospital just to check up on everything before I was discharged. I'm now about 10 weeks  and doing pretty good. My pain level was very minimal even throughout my recovery time so yeah. Hopefully the bleeding issue is sorted and you recovery goes well.

    Gosh you have been through a lot. You were really unlucky with the tramadol I had that in hospital and it was alright for me. It was morphine that made me really sick.

    Getting some sleep takes time - I hope you improve soon. Good luck for Friday.

    Hi boasey, sorry to hear about your problems but hopefully sorted now and bleeding will stop then you can get on with your recovery.

    Good morning boasey ... I hope that you feel better today ... good Lord, what an ordeal ... I hope that you have pain medication that agrees with you and that the bleeding has stopped .... come back here to share whatever you feel, okay -  it helps to know that we are not alone ....  big hug and take good care of yourself ...
