I have been enjoying the rhubarb - amazing coloir this year. I think I have made four batches of compote and as many of various forms of jam. And of course the beautiful squares (pistachio shortbread base spread with the-baked jam and topped with more pistachios and some finely chopped candied ginger). Hands down the best new recipe of the year in our network! Good thing I don't have the time to bake them regularly. ??

      Many thanks,

Happy baking and eating.

Sorry for all the typos - spellchecker keeps adapting my words - repeatedly. The two middle sentences ought to be : the fig and honey blog has many other brilliant recipes and I am slowly making my way through them. The rhubarb spread is of course, super on tea biscuits, with tea biscuits or with just about anything really.

Don't you just love spellchecker!! It can make a completely normal sentence appear to have been written by a Martian!

One of my favourites has been when my husband told me he was just drivelling past Standard and would be gnome as soon as he could. Martian to English translation- he was driving past Stanstead and would be home etc....
