2 years of testicle pain epididymitis and hydrocele - I want relief

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have

1 - bilateral hydrocele - both considered small.

2 - epididymitis on right testicle - soft tissue damage on bottom (2+years)

3. urinary burning, "drippy", incomplete emptying etc. (comes and goes)

Have yet to find some one to help with chronic pain. Drs say I have to be severely impacted before any surgery will be done due to complications and low success rates. Everyone says hydroceles are painless but think it is putting pressure on testicle/epididymitis so I am sitting on it and aggravates it. There may be soft tissue damage.

Meds:

  1. Have been on a handful of antibiotics like Cipro, doxy etc, but did not help.
  2. Take 800-2400 mg of Advil
  3. Recently prescribed flomax and oxybutynin - but does not help with pain.

Using donut hole cushion for sitting, larger pants, more supportive underwear, standing more.

The daily pain is really pulling me down and preventing what I can do physically.

So glad to find this group!!!

Have you been checked for prostatitis as well as a UTI? I found Amoxicilin to be effective for UTIs. Also have you been checked for an enlarged prostate (BPH) by ultrasound?

Have had 6-8 urine tests and they always come back negative. Will have PSA test in a few days but has always been low to normal in the past.

Dx of prostatitis based on symptoms, no ultrasound.

Rx of Finasteride but have not started it...not comfortable with what I have read about it. Also taking Flomax and oxybutynin.

Not sure if this all will help epididymitis? Is there a related muscle or nerve that can interfere with the two??
