20 months after succesful L4/L5 fusion I have numbness under my toes

Hi

20 months ago I had L4/L5 fusion. All is well, pain has disappeared. But recently I've been feeling numbness under the toes (no tingling though). There is no pain. But feels odd at he front of the base of my feet when I walk. The numbness disappears when I relax on the sofat night after shower.

I can live with the numbness. But why is this happening? What's your experience? What action should I take?

Thank you,

Jeremy

I have the same after my fusions, my big toes feel numb. been told its nerve related and also have spoken to a fair few people that have the same. your not alone, i tend to just get on with it even the spinal chord stimulators have not stopped this issue. bring it up at your next review.

Thanks Jon. I'll live with it as long as there is no pain.

I had the same surgery. It didn't help me.  I'm glad you got good results

Sorry to hear that Linda. My first op (disectomy L4/L5) didn't work - pain was back within 2 weeks. But the fusion 5 months later  did. Have you discussed with your consultant if a follow on op might help? All the best.

Hi Jeremy. I did have the fusion of L4 and L5 2 years later. The surgeon could not explain my pain. Oh yeah and I have seen  a psychologist too.
