20 too much??

hi all

so ive been on 20mg of cit for roughly 16 weeks now and after a terrible start things levelled off around the 12 week mark for me. I take them for anxiety and its improved so much i cant even tell you.

my question is i feel quite emotionally numb and although i know i love my children i dont feel that rush of love i usually have for them and sometimes even feel detached. I have loads of thick hair thankfully because it is falling out.. is my dose too high?? should i consider a drop?

i was on 10mg at the start and it was working but as i was it such a bad place i upped to 20mg at the reccomendation of gp 😃

I started at 20mg. Dropped to 10mg and I lost all those side effects. I changed docs and he stated that 20mg was maybe too much. So I tapered to 10 and been there for slmost 2 years. More is not better with these meds. From my understanding, the lower dosages are for anxiety. 10mg works well gor me. Hope all goes well.

When you taper, try 15mg first. Give that 4-5 weeks to settle. If all goes well with ghat, try 10mg. If all goes well, you'll be fine.

      really?!

thanks so much for the reply.. i do think maybe a lower dose would suit me better but im not so sure about tapering down on the run up to christmas though. I will see how i feel and hopefully not go bald in the process. 😃

When i did the taper, I had no ill effects. You can do it in smaller amounts. The most important thing is wait 4-5 weeks or longer if needed to ensure you have settled. Then proceed

      hi emily

it was 12 weeks before i stared to feel any kind of normality up until then i was up and down like a yoyo.. are you having moments of feeling ok emily? for me i started feeling better in the evenings then wham in the mornings i was flooded with anxiety yet again... I hope youre ok Emily. It took me a long time to feel ok. In the end i had a calendar which i gave a tick for a good day, cross for a horrendous day and a 1/2 if it iffy...

send me a message anytime 😃

Hey lovely! Yes i'm still very up and down, i have moments of feeling more positive which is good but when i get down i do feel very hopeless as i think the anxiety will never go away, if you can relate? I'm so pleased to hear you're doing well though! And evenings are better for me too, i think because the end of the day has come and we have gotten through it. Did you have therapy too by any chance?

    Thanks so much, Emily x
