200mg instead of 100mg !

5 weeks in to the Sertraline journey . After 1 week my Dr increased my dose to 100mg because I had taken Prozac previously for years

I didnt read the pack and had thought that the new perscription was also 50mg and took 2 tablets for 4 weeks , but the tablets are 100mg. So Ive jumped from 50mg to 200mg , how stupid of me !

I started to feel a bit better but now feel worse ( crying and fretting) than in my whole life .

Dr said start alternating daily 100mg to 200mg for 2 weeks then take 100mg onwards .

What a horrible mess , any advise or thoughts please .

I've never heard of anyone being advised to alternate doses. Crazy! You need to build up consistent level of sertraline in your blood plasma. Consistent by taking the same dose at the same time of day every day. Absolutely not changing the dose every other day will mess up your brain.

That makes absolute sense to me and thats exactly what I am going to do .

Thank you so much for you advise .

If you just take 100mg from tomorrow onwards, it will level out much more quickly than alternating
