    Hello.

I’ve been on this medication for almost 2 months and I am just now starting to feel the benefits. Not going to lie, it made me feel pretty crappy for awhile. Anxious, nauseous, internal shakes, sleeping problems, night sweats. But i am feeling pretty great now!

Try and stick with it. If it doesn’t start helping around 6 weeks or so, talk to your doctor.

    Best of luck.

Hope it works for you soon Leahe... Personally I found it a life saver 15 years ago but had to build to 300mg before I responded to it...( It hits a third neurochemical at plus that dose) As advised to to be patient and Lord knows that's easier said than done when dealing with this illness but there's nothing quite as wonderful as when it clears and you're back. Truly hope U get there sooner rather than later

Thanks! I hope soon. I've suffered from anxiety and depression since I was 21. I just can't fake and fight through it anymore. I've decided to take a chance and hope that the rest of my years will be more pleasant happier ones..life is hard and lately just exhausting. I am 58 now so.... I don't care if I'm on it for the long run. Thanks for the positive! I so need the positive...??

Hello, recntly was on same as yourself, 75mg morning and night. Spent 5 weeks on it. It feels good taking it. Improvements were slow and gradual. After 5 weeks, thoughts improvements werent enough, so went up to 187 for 2 weeks, and now 225mg. You need to give it at least 4 weeks, to see if you need an increase, possibly a bit longer. Moving to 187 made a noticeable difference, moving to 225 4 days ago has helped more. Really down periods seem to have stopped, and seem to be able to face everday now, without dread. Also doing more in last week or so. Sometimes even happy now, with a bit of hope. Ven has been a life saver for me, so glad i moved to it 10 weeks ago. I was in a right mess then. If you have improved, then ven is for you, just need to be on it for long enough, and be on right dose. Give your current dose at least another 2 weeks, before seeing your doctor for a review.

It seemed different to me as well early on, even when it wasnt fully working, as i wasnt on right dose. No side effects, and with it being immediate release, liked the feeling after 1 hour of taking it. Last 2 weeks on 187 made me feel slightly better in just 2 weeks. After being on 225mg for 4 days its even better. My personal circumstances are exactly the same, just feel i can deal with things and when my worries surface, can think or do something more posisitive. Mainly the dread feeling has gone. Also my anxiety levels havent increased on ven, possibly even a little lower. 3 weeks would be a good time to review improvements, and consider a dose increase if necessary. Dont worry about high numbers 225mg of ven, is at same lebel/strength as 40mg of citalopram for example.

I went up from 150mg to 187 about 3 weeks ago. It made a noticeable difference after a couple of days. Felt more secure in myself. Bit woozy for first couple of days, but it soon wore off. Down periods felt a lot shallower, ie not so down. It was a very good move.

Praying this is too for me. I hate that neck tightness.. I get...like I am.not down but tense..?? Do you get that way too?
    • Posted

No kneck tightness, but can get it in my mouth and jaw. Its just anxiety, tensing your muscles. Different people get muscle tightness in different places. Depends on your body, what work and exercise you do. Should go at some point, anxiety is normally last thing to go. Sounds like you are ahead of me, with recovery. Only just stopped getting really down. 4 to 6 weeks for noticeable and consistant improvements, sometimes longer. You can notice smaller improvements sooner.

Yoga would help you at this point. Good for anxiety and tension. Not much benefit for depression.

Its kinda like, the depression has lifted somewhat but the tension still causing bad thinking. So kinda waves of good and not so good but definetly better than 3 weeks,ago..

Reading again is a really good sign. Means you are doing well. Havent been able to read, watch tv or listen to music since feb. Common signs of depression. Tried listening to some music a couple of weeks ago, was okay at first, but got me down after a while. Hoping to try again in a few weeks.
