24/7 urge to urinate at the tip of my penis.

I've been reading a lot of posts about this same problem that I'm experiencing. My Urologist says I have a slightly enlarged prostate along with an over active bladder. I'm taking 2 meds to offset the symptoms, but they don't seem to be working at night. Taking a hot bath seems to help sometimes but not all of the time. I can go many nights in a row without being able to sleep. Drives me crazy. My diet and fluid intake don't seem to be an issue. Anyone have a real answer on how to fix this?

I know most ppl say meds for over active bladder. If there not working self cathing will empty bladder but you will probably still have the bladder spasms. I would either call the docs office and tell them the meds don't work or try another doc.

My urologist told me the same thing; he also suggested I had sleep issues. He said it was unlikely that surgery would provide much benefit but sleep meds might. I believe him because I thought the same. Bladder retraining ,might help, but I'm not sure what else would (perhaps self cathing?). I get up 3 to 4 times a night; I still try for 7 hours of sleep.

I have been taking Motrim PMĀ for years to help me sleep and to help dealing with nightime urination. I sometimes get up only once during the night, when I stop to test myself I go back to getting up 2-3 times a night. My doctor checks my blood 2 times a year to make sure my kidneys are ok since I am a diabetic and I am always fine. I take 2 pills about an hour before I go to sleep and they work like a charm. Good luck.

What do you mean? Do you mean the tip of your penis feel blocked and urine cannot flow out? I go through a phase where I want to urinate but cannot and it feels  like the urine is on the way down the uretha but it just can't get past the tip of the penis. The bladder feels full and I have maybe ten spasms and dribbles after each spasm than it suddenly opens up and flows freely like nothing was wrong.
