26 years old cataract in one eye , any good UK professionals I can see

hi , got a cataract in the right eye and very very early signs the eye examiner said on my left eye (cant notice and can see fine on left eye and read good.
i seem to be on the nhs waiting list forever since one year for my right eye .
but after researching about lenses and the fact that the nhs only offers a monofocal lens i decided to see the premium lens options as i dont want glasses and never used glasses .
but i see everyone crying about multifocal lenses on here. and it has really put me off in regards to halos etc .
this had made me feel really down and confused and i dont know who i can see to get a proffesional opinion and a solution for me as im a lot younger then everyone else online with a cataract . ( i dont even know how ive developed cataract at such a young age .
moving foward if anyone can reccomend me a good eye doctor that can offer all the lenses available on the market all these new ones . And is good enough to give me a professional opinion who is in the UK.
as im really young compared to others and i am currently happy with my night driving and dont want to suffer with not being able to drive at night and always use my phone and dont want glasses .
also one more thing if i get a monofocal lens in one eye . but my other eye i can read without glasses anyway because my left eye is good . wouldnt that just be fine to live without specs, anyone ever done that .?

I have a monofocal for distance in one eye as a result of a cataract. I use a contact in the other eye to give me an under correction of -1.25 D. That allows me to read with that eye, while see distance with my IOL eye. It works quite well. I also have glasses but I prefer the contact in one eye to glasses. The glasses do provide the sharpest vision though.

So sorry you have cataracts at 26. I thought I was young at 53 to get them.
You may never know why. I was told steriod creams and medications can bring them on as well as trauma to the eye.
If you can see well with both eyes open take your time deciding. New and better lenses being developed all the time. But yes each IOL comes with trade offs. I am in Canada so don't have a recommendation for you. I do know professionals who implant multifocal lenses charge a lot of money and I am not sure you will get an unbiased review. Sometimes there is a reason why NHS doesn't offer them. Comes done yo personality traits - some people are less exacting - less perfectionists so they would do better with the trade offs of multifocals. Not one of them can or should guarantee you glasses or contact free. It may be that you are far less dependant on them but the diopters for most IOLS come in .50 vs .25 so depending on your prescription needed vision may not be as good as a person with glasses or contacts. Someone of normal cataract age has already experienced a decline in near vision vs someone your age. So reviews are subjective even from patients. I was a little upset / angry at having to do this surgery. My surgeon said to me that someone 20 years older is do happy to get the surgery as they will gain something they lost but someone younger has to de ise what to give up. It is true. Do your best yo get as much info as possible, get a few consultations and make a decision that is right for you.
Good luck

I'm 25 and got catarcts in both eyes - chose VIVITY EDOF lenses and have to use reading glasses for my phone. But I can't enjoy night driving anymore because I got all kinds of problems like GLARE STARBURSTS LIGHTSTREAKS.
Daytime is great but Night and especially dim lightning is where I notice the difference.
To enjoy food I use reading glasses, otherwise its like 30% blurrier than before.
Pick a monofocal trust me, you can always play around with multifocal contacts or something.
But you will not be able to remove the problems at night.
Im gonna get an explant when I get the money in at least one eye.

thanks for the advice , i think maybe a monofocal maybe the best choice then.
as my left is good and i hope to the lord my left eye never fxcks up .
how long did you have this edof lens implanted ?
from what i was reading it was not going to cause hardly any serious issues .
also thinking back how maybe i got this was possibly using eczema steroid creams , maybe it was that or not or i was born with it.

I have them since I think 1 or 2 years. I cant remember exactly since it feels like a traumatic experience I try to forget.. with all these lying doctors, bad treatment like a number, manipulation into buying premium lenses. "forgetting to call me for a surgery date - so I have to wait another 3 months and they couldn't calculate my eye strength accurately because the cataract was then so developed"
On GOD bro from young person to young person- Chose the monofocals. I also heard it causes no issues and even my doctor said "YOU CAN DRIVE! THEY ARE NON DIFFRACTIVE THEY ARE JUST LIKE MONOFOCALS" And yeah now I got so many problems.
And funny that you say that with being intimimate since I had the same worries. Since you have a functioning other eye it will probably counter it and you will still see her sharp. Even Multifocals only can give you like 30cm reading distance and you don't want multifocals.
You also gotta think about all these premium lenses are made for old people, they already had some decrease in vision quality. We as young people will notice every single difference. So maybe an older person could have good experience with multifocals while a young person is totally unhappy.
And bro even if it would be annoying to you that one eye is blurry when you are next to your partner, you can always just put in a contact lenses with + power just like a reading glass as contacts.
But ask yourself would you be fine having issues at night, noticing all the differences, eventually have glare or starbursts or even the worst LIGHTSTREAKS which nobody told me about. They make the night very ugly for me.

also another thing on my mind is i don't want to be seeing a blur or needing glasses doing the intimate things in life with my partner . that would suck .
