27- Have BV for 6 years now. New medication

So I’ve tried everything imaginable to get rid of my BV with little to no success. I have chronic BV which never completely clears up. I just have a few days we’re its less aggressive. My gyno prescribed me SOLOSEC today which I haven’t picked up yet. $70 ouch! I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with Solosec? I know it’s new and I’m not seeing any reviews on it.

I've been hand chronic BV for a little over a year. Once I thought it cleared up it'd be right back within a matter of days after having had intercourse over the course of several days, I'm on week 3 or 4 now of not having a reoccurrence of BV and honestly I did what a lot of people tell you not to do, douche. I douche before sex and usually the next morning after sex just to clear out any semen left over from the night before. I'm convinced, for me at least, that it was frequent sex and although our vaginas are self cleaning I don't think it actually gets rid of it all. I mean we hold on top men's DNA within our bodies so getting it out before it throws off our ph too much I feel is key. Even if BV comes back I now know I can get some gaps in occurrences by doing this, where before it was literally every week and on top of that I was getting UTI's every time after I had sex where that has never happened before and I think BV might have something to do with it.

Are you doing the hydro peroxide douche? I’m nervous to do that because my Gyno is really against it.

Yea my BV has gotten worse since my boyfriend and I moved in together. Just recently I’ve been trying to pee right after sex and not letting him “finish his business” inside me.

I use a summers eve douche that is just a regular "clean" scent and after it's gone I use regular water mixed with ph balanced summers even feminine wash and use just that.

Try the brand "Good Clean Love" the box should say "PH balancing and moisturizer". This got rid of my BV for good! I had it off and on for two years until it became an everyday pain/burning when urinating. It's a gel like product that you apply up the vagina before you go to sleep. I did it for 4 days consecutively. It burns/tingles the first couple of times. This just means your PH balance is off or there aren't enough good bacteria. It should burn/tingle less by the 2nd/3rd day. Just an FYI when I first inserted the gel i felt like it burned a lot and wanted to wash it off but I kept it in and it stopped burning in the next two minutes. You can get it at a CO-OP, i know some drug stores have it, or order it online. Just make sure the box says "PH balancing and moisturizer" and that you don't buy the wash.

My Ph balance is off for 2 years. I don't have a smell. My symptoms are itchiness, discharges: clears and slimy at times, thick at times, yellowish at times these occurs on and off, lower abdominal pain. My first 6 months of my symptoms I was with my GYN 2 to 3x a week desperate for a cure. I'm negative for STD. Been treated with multiple antibiotics( antibiotics by mouth or any prescribed cream vaginally for itchiness)I'll tell you, these will not help. As per my GYN advised, our immune system is not working well, we have to take Multivitamin for women, take probiotic 2x day (different brand in am and different brand in pm). What works for me, I'm taking evening primrose oil( for womens hormone), Vit C, VitB12, Vit D3 aside for Multivitamin. For itchiness I use organic virgin coconut oil. Apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoon before meal 1x to 2x per day before my period start to avoid yeast infection( menstruation makes ph balance off), plain kefir (probiotic) mixed with flaxseed(prevent yeast). I don't put anything intravaginally chemical (cause Cancer) or natural as per GYN. Just wait till your immune system balance itself. For washing just plain water for vagina, since our anus is so close to our vagina I use summers eve with no scent additives. Our vagina is so sensitive the scent can make our ph way off also. For Sex, minimize sex thanks God my husband is understanding he knows what I've been through. Just in case after sex go and wash your vagina, as a precaution apply coconut oil after, because mine will itch. I hope these will help to anyone waiting for a cure. God Bless
